Zachery Barnett is a fifth generation Texan, attending undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. Dr Barnett then went on to complete his medical degree in Philadelphia at Temple University. Dr. Barnett then completed an extensive three-year forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction residency at the University of Louisville in KY, an extensive level one trauma center. There Dr. Barnett trained under renowned podiatrists, foot and ankle orthopedics, traumatologists, vascular, and plastic surgeons. While in residency Dr. Barnett picked up the name Dr. Boots, for the fact he is always in Lucchese cowboy boots.
After residency Dr. Barnett relocated to Florida where he focused on trauma, sports medicine and reconstruction in Daytona Beach and Tampa. While in Tampa Dr. Barnett treated professional athletes, including Olympians, as well as special operation command at MacDill airforce base. He was voted “Top Podiatrist of Tampa Bay” for 2019-2020, published in Tampa Bay Magazine.
Dr. Barnett also served as vice president of the Hillsborough county division of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Barnett was also the youngest member voted to the medical executive committee of Memorial Hospital of Tampa, an HCA hospital. Dr. Barnett was and continues to be a local and regional lecturer, educating the community, nurses, and doctors of the specialty of podiatry. Dr. Barnett has proudly chosen to relocate back to the great state of Texas to serve the Dallas community.
Dr. Barnett’s surgical interests are in rearfoot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine and elective/cosmetic surgery. Dr. Barnett also specializes in biomechanics, diabetic limb salvage, and all aspects of conservative medicine. Dr. Barnett is fully versed in every aspect of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Barnett’s goals are to improve patient’s lives through medical advancement with genuine compassion. Along with treating the individual Dr. Barnett has a passion for educating the community and abroad the importance the lower extremity has on a persons overall well being.
In his free time Dr Barnett spends time with his family boating, fishing, hunting, bbqing, and watching his Dallas Cowboys.
